A LEGACY OF DESIGN LEADERSHIP IN THE DISTRICT

For nearly two decades, DC Design Week (DCDW) presented by AIGA DC has served as the capital region’s leading platform for creative exchange—elevating design as both a professional practice and a cultural force. What began as a grassroots effort has evolved into a dynamic, multi-disciplinary celebration of design in all its forms, curated by a coalition of creative professionals across the DMV.

Each year, the week brings together designers, artists, technologists, strategists, and storytellers for a series of thoughtfully crafted programs—from interactive exhibitions and studio tours to timely keynotes and experimental showcases. DCDW meets the moment while anticipating what’s next—building bridges between disciplines and fostering dialogue that shapes the future of our industry. Our programming sponsors helped us sustain our programming and invest directly into the next generation of designers through the Design Continuum Fund. The 2025 theme - Unparalleled Pathways - honors the diverse trajectories and shared experiences of our community.
